Story Prompt
On their way to the next concert date of the All-Star concert music festival tour, “The Rockin' Radiance Fest” Where Jem and the Holograms, The Misfits, and The Stingers have all been invited to perform (among others), The Misfits get into yet another “row” leaving Stormer stranded on the side of I-10 between Tucson and Phoenix. The Holograms, coincidentally, see her from their tour bus and rescue her. During the 2-hour road trip, Kimber and Stormer reconnect and, noticing their amicable conversation and remembering the remarkably strong sales of the two’s collaborative album (which Starlight Music had promoted), Jem encourages them to make another album as a duo with the Holograms’ support. They become eager to do so, and they realize this solidarity would be perfect to release for the upcoming anniversary of the Starlight Foundation’s founding. When they discuss this while stocking up on snacks as the Tour bus gasses up at a rest stop, Minx of the Stingers, who is also on her way to the festival is there at the same time and overhears the conversation and tries to make her best case for joining in as well for a special album with a member from each of the three famous bands!
Meanwhile, the remaining Misfits (Pizzazz, Roxy, and Jetta) learn of an exciting new development: Eric has commissioned Techrat (who has been hiding out in his new Arizona shack) to build (unknowingly) what could be described as the Misfits’ version of Synergy; a prototype machine for projecting holograms. The two present it to Roxy, Pizzazz, and Jetta as an amazing opportunity to make their concerts more lively and dazzling and use this technology to replace Stormer with a holographic version for THEIR upcoming performance at the festival (and no one would be the wiser!) Pizzazz is giddy to use it to wreck whatever the Holograms are planning that week.
What happens next is up to you.

All entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on September 13, 2024 to jemconforever@gmail.com with the subject line “JemCon 2024 Fanfiction Contest Entry”.
All entries must be typed and presented in a serif or sans-serif 10- to 12-point font such as Arial or Times New Roman. Acceptable file formats include Microsoft Word, Open Office, rich text, plain text, or PDF documents.
It must contain between 500 and 4,000 words in the body of the story proper.
All entries must be "PG-rated", meaning no foul language or mature content. We want everyone, including the new Jemeration, to be able to enjoy your stories!
By entering this contest, the entrant agrees that the submitted work is their own original story, without the use of artificially-generated or plagiarized material. Authors are allowed to submit multiple stories.
By entering this contest, the entrant agrees to allow their original work to be posted online, printed in the program and performed at live and streaming events connected to JemCon 2024. We will not post them or distribute them anywhere else, and we will fully credit all writers.
Entrants maintain full ownership of their story.
Judging
All entries will be reviewed by a panel of volunteer readers, who will select a winner based on the following criteria:
Originality, creativity, and "Universal Appeal"
Style and ease of reading (i.e. grammar, spelling, and punctuation)
Adherence to the theme and the rules listed above
Don't forget to include all the elements (An adobe roof, a plate of carne asada burritos, and a VCR.)
