THE FANS SAW IT COMING: JemCon 2026 Celebrates 41 Years of Jem and the Holograms
The longest-running Jem fan convention marks the franchise's milestone anniversary in San Diego this September, with original voice cast, designers, and superfans already assembled
SAN DIEGO, CA — June 2026 — When Amazon MGM Studios announced this morning that a live-action Jem and the Holograms series is in development with Westworld and Fallout producers Kilter Films, one community wasn't surprised at all: the fans who never stopped showing up.
JemCon, the fan-run convention dedicated to Jem and the Holograms, returns for its 21st year this September 11–13, 2026, at the DoubleTree Hilton San Diego Bayside; and the timing feels less like coincidence and more like Synergy planned the whole thing.
Themed "All In The Style" and marking the franchise's 40th anniversary, JemCon 2026 brings together original voice cast members Samantha Newark (the speaking voice of Jem/Jerrica) and Britta Phillips (the singing voice of Jem), Townsend Coleman (the voice of Riot of The Stingers), Hasbro toy designer Stefanie Eskander, music producer Jared Jones (whose remix album Hologram 2.0 features the late Ari Gold), performer and fandom pioneer Darian Darling, and drag superstar Belle Pepper. The three-day event includes panels, a fashion runway competition, a drag show hosted by Jem super fan and RuPaul's Drag Race legend Morgan McMichaels, a doll design contest, a museum exhibit, and a live performance showcase — all run by and for the fans who built this community across 21 years and 14 states.
"The Jem fandom didn't need Amazon to tell us this franchise was worth celebrating," said co-chair Roxy Tart, a founding member of the Jemtourage who appeared in the 2015 live-action film. "We've been showing up since 1985. But we're genuinely thrilled that the rest of the world is finally catching up. The timing couldn't be more truly outrageous."
JemCon has been held in three countries and 14 states, making it the longest-running fan convention dedicated to the franchise. Tickets and information are available now at jemcon.xyz.
