JemCon 2026 Fan Fiction Contest: "Who Does She Run With?"

"She's got the power... but which side would she choose?"

Gwendolyn Snyder. Better known as Graphix. She's bold, she's artistic, she's got an eye for style that could stop traffic on the Sunset Strip. But here's the question that's been living rent-free in our heads:

If Graphix had been dropped into Season 3 of the animated series, which band would she have ended up with? The Holograms? The Misfits? The Stingers? Or would she have been the wildcard who changed everything?

That's your story to tell.

The Prompt

Season 3 has just kicked off. The Stingers have hit town, Riot is being... well, Riot, and the music scene in Starlight Mansion's orbit is more chaotic than ever. Into this glittering, scheming, mascara-smeared world steps Gwendolyn Snyder, aka Graphix: graphic artist, street-style icon, and a girl who could hang with literally anyone — if she wanted to.

But which world does she step into? And what happens when she does?

Your story must pick a band for Graphix and make the case, through your narrative, for exactly why she belongs there. Does she end up tagging murals at Jem's next charity event? Does Pizzazz recruit her to design Misfits merch after spotting her work and snarling "finally, someone with actual taste"? Does Riot decide her aesthetic is the missing piece of his vision?

Whatever direction you take, make us believe it.

Your Story Must Be Set In These San Diego Locations:

  • The San Diego Zoo

  • Mission Beach Boardwalk

  • Fashion Valley Mall

(Because if there's anywhere Graphix would feel right at home, it's San Diego, baby.)

Your Story Must Include These Three Lines of Dialogue:

  • "That is so typical for Riot."

  • "Oh no! Graphix, don't tag that!"

  • "Can you believe what she is actually wearing!?"
