JemCon 2027 Vendor Rules & Guidelines
Look, we're all here to have fun and make some magic happen. But we do need a few ground rules to keep the vendor room running smoothly and keep everyone happy. This is pretty straightforward stuff.
The Basics
Age Requirement
You and anyone helping at your table have to be 18+. Or there with a legal guardian. It's not us being difficult, it's just the way it has to be.
California Seller's Permit
If you're selling anything, you need a valid California Seller's Permit. Period. You don't need to show us the number when you apply, but you'll need to have it ready when you check in. If we can't verify it at that time, you won't be able to vend. Sound fair? Get yours from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. (If you've never done this before, don't panic. It's easier than you think.) Vendors who experience difficulty when applying can call the CDTFA. JemCon is not able to assist with the permitting process.
Click “Register for a Permit” to go to the application.
The space rental is $160.
JemCon charges membership to attend the event. The table fee does not include the membership fee.
The organizer/Promoter of the event is:
JemCon
PO Box 6515
Laguna Niguel, CA
92607
Vendors must use the Hotel address for the location of the event, as this is where business is conducted for the purpose of a temporary seller’s permit. The address is
25205 La Paz Rd,
Laguna Hills, CA
92653
Vendors MUST NOT use the JemCon email address when applying for a seller’s permit. Vendors must use their own email address for the permit.
What You Can Sell (And What You Can't)
The Legal Stuff
Everything you sell has to be legal. We're not getting into trouble for anyone. This means no stolen goods, no counterfeit merch, and no bootlegged knockoffs.
Copyrighted Materials
If it's not your original work, you need to have permission from the copyright holder or it needs to fall under fair use (fan art, transformative works, etc.). Basically, don't sell something that's gonna get us a cease-and-desist letter.
Weapons & Dangerous Items
No real weapons, no weapons that look real, nothing that could pose a safety risk. If you're unsure, ask us.
Raffles
Raffles are not permitted.
Alcohol, Tobacco & Controlled Substances
“Controlled substances” include, but are not limited to, narcotics, medications, and all other substances that are illegal or regulated under state or federal law. This also includes items reasonably understood to be paraphernalia for the use of such substances. We can't have that in the vendor room. Full stop.
Sketchy Materials
No hazardous chemicals, no open flames, no spray painting inside the vendor room. (Finished spray-painted items are fine though.)
Keep It Real
Please don't sell items that are just generic dropship/bulk resale goods with no personality or connection to you. We want authentic vendors, not Temu in booth form. This rule does not restrict dealers from selling goods they designed and had manufactured by a third party on their behalf.
Application Accuracy
Vendors should accurately represent the goods, services, and display setup they intend to present when applying. JemCon reserves the right to require removal of noncompliant items or to terminate the vendor space of any vendor whose actual stock or display significantly mismatches their application, or who is found to be in violation of these rules. Such decisions are at the discretion of the vendor team lead and event hosts and will be final.
During the Con
Be Professional (But Be Yourself)
Don't be a jerk. Be respectful to other vendors, attendees, and our volunteers. If there's a problem, we can work it out like adults. Harassment, aggression, or being deliberately offensive will get you removed. No refunds.
Load-in and display materials
Most merchandise and wares must be moved in and out through the loading dock, where staff will be on hand to assist and direct during Load-in and Load-out hours. Only small, hand-carried items may be brought directly into the vendor space. Vendors with rolling carts, pallets, or elaborate booth equipment should plan to use the loading dock. We will contact approved vendors by email with the latest logistics information as it becomes available.
Staff Your Table
Be there during vendor room hours, or have it clearly posted what times you’ll be there. If you have an emergency, just communicate with us and we'll figure it out.
Keep the Aisles Clear
This is about safety and respect. Don't put your stuff out into the aisle. Don't block other vendors. Don't sit in walkways. Keep your personal clutter behind your table. If there's a fire exit or walkway, keep it clear.
No Obnoxious Displays
No insane blinking lights, no random loud music blaring from your booth, no displays that block other vendors or create safety hazards. If it's gonna be annoying, dial it back.
Keep It Clean
Pack up your own trash at the end of each day. Don't leave food or drinks overnight. Use the garbage cans, not the floor. If you spill something, clean it up right away. We keep the vendor room looking good for everyone.
Wrapping Up
If we find merchandise that breaks these rules, we'll ask you to remove it. If it's a bigger issue, we might ask you to leave. We're not trying to be difficult. These rules are here to make sure everyone has an amazing time.
